Transcribing your audio…
What makes meeting recordings hard
Meetings are the hardest common case. Several people at different distances from one microphone, talking over each other, using internal jargon and product names that exist nowhere in any training data. Conference room audio with its echo makes all of that worse.
A workflow that holds up
Record from the conferencing app rather than a phone on the table — app audio comes from each participant's own microphone.
Upload the export directly; MP4 meeting recordings do not need audio extraction unless they are oversized.
Search the transcript for decision words rather than reading it end to end.
Keep the timestamped version alongside the recording as your record.
Things worth knowing first
- → Ask people to say their name before speaking in the first few minutes — it makes the transcript far easier to attribute.
- → Internal acronyms will come out wrong. A find-and-replace pass on your five most common ones fixes most of it.
- → Remote participants on poor connections transcribe worst; note that before relying on their section.
What you get back
Every job returns both versions. Take whichever fits the job.
An illustration of the two output formats. Not the result of any particular recording.
